  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, dried oregano, and dried thyme in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk until blended, ensuring the honey is fully dissolved.
  2. Season the marinade with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  4. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap.
  5. Refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes, but aim for 2 to 4 hours for the best flavor impact.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Take the chicken from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.
  8. Line a baking dish with aluminum foil or parchment paper and lightly grease it with olive oil.
  9. Arrange the marinated chicken in the baking dish, spaced evenly.
  10. Pour any remaining marinade over the chicken.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). For added flavor, baste the chicken with pan juices halfway through cooking.
  12. Let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
