Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Panko)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4 to 1/2-inch thick rings.
  3. Combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
  4. Beat the eggs until smooth in another bowl.
  5. Place the breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
  6. Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat it in breadcrumbs.
  7. Arrange the coated onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  8. Lightly spray the onion rings with cooking spray.
  9. Air fry for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  10. Remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Adjust the thickness of onion rings for extra crispiness. Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
